What commitment does it take to have a bird?

Letting people know the responsibility, hard work, devotion , it takes to raise a bird. Much less goes into breeding. They should study and read all they can about the breed they are interested in, before ever buying a bird. Make sure they can commit to devoting the time this bird will need. Let alone all the food, vitamins, medications, and everything else this bird will need to be a happy healthy bird.

It is cruel to neglect or mistreat any animal in any way form or fashion. By that I mean even letting it go without water for several hours is cruel, as they can not get out and get it themselves.

So, please be responsible. Think things over, do all your research, and if you can answer yes, I can devote my time to this bird, then by all means buy or adopt one, but if you can not, do yourself a favor and do the bird an even bigger favor by not getting it only to starve it or neglect it.

So many people think oh what a pretty bird I have to have it. A week later the bird is forgotten. He may get fed once every two or three days, a few weeks pass by, well that stupid bird is dead, they must have sold me a bad bird. Heard that story before! The fact is the new owner did not have a clue. They killed the bird and blamed the seller. Why? It was easier than to say oops I was not responsible.

Be responsible. If you have a bird you can no longer care for, find some one who will. Never release them outside to fend for themselves, as they will not make it, you just signed their death warrant.

Be kind to God's creations!

Have a blessed day!
